2017 was a good year again. We were fortunate enough to win an award from the NWWIB for Small Business of the year for 2017. We're very proud to have won this and it goes to speak to who we are as a company. This is a great group of individuals who make up a top-notch team here at Cutting Edge Metals Inc.
Cutting Edge Metals, Inc. of Superior received the Business of the Year: Small Business Award. Mike Miller, owner of the business, accepted the award. The company was developed in the garage of owner Mike Miller. Each piece is custom and handmade, without assembly lines or robots. While building his business in 2015, Miller worked with Northwest Wisconsin CEP and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act On-the- Job Training (OJT) program to train new employees as well as utilizing the OJT Upgrade program to enhance the skill sets of his existing workforce. Through this process, he has been very supportive of hiring non-traditional workers and one having veterans preference, NWWIB said in a news release. Cutting Edge Metals, Inc. is working on expanding with the purchase of an additional 12,000 square foot building in Superior.
